RUNWAY: J.W. Anderson FW16
Jonathan Anderson knows better than most about how quickly life can change. His eponymous label was a darling, known for its gender bending creations, and it all changed when
LVMH scooped him up to be the creative director at
Loewe. Life nowadays changes quickly and the irony of putting a snail on many of his FW16 garments was a cute tongue in cheek touch. The collection was bold, per usual, defying the trend of militarism and austere, masculine shapes. There was fur, silken robes, tattered and elongated cardigans, and subversive chokers, not for the faint of heart but an interesting proposition on the state of menswear all the same. Also interesting is the partnership between this label and the Grindr, which streamed the collection through their app.
