RUNWAY: Sacai SS16
When Japanese label
Sacai decided to show its first men's runway show for SS16, there are inherently lots of expectations: not only does the collection have to be good - it was - but it must also be entertaining and engaging. That's what Sacai's designer , Chitose Abe, did today. The collection's free and celebratory vibe came in all shapes and forms, from chunky Buffalo plaid to sleek and smartly cut jackets. A tropical theme also emerged, thanks to leis around the models necks, while foliage-printed bermudas brought the idea home. Globalism is here and it's not going away and when done right, like it was here, the result is often times marvelous: the merging of different cultures, ideas, and dressing to create a symbiotic fusion of humanity.
