RUNWAY: Gosha Rubchinskiy SS15

Gosha Rubchinskiy might be a new name to some but the 30 year old Russian designer has been designing clothes since 2008. For SS15, he makes a big jump from Russia to the forefront of fashion by showing in Paris, thanks in large part to his partnership with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons. For this season, he broke out of the mold he put himself in to create a succinct and youthful take on modern street-wear. From the label's roots as a skater-friendly label to one that's sophisticated enough to offer luxe leather jackets and fur without looking tawdry is a feat. Meanwhile the looks that were derived from the street and from blue collar workers worked best when paired with straight leg trousers and track pants inspired bottoms.
