RUNWAY: Yohji Yamamoto SS14
High-concept designer
Yohji Yamamoto presented a
Charlie Chaplin-esque collection in Paris, with his signature fast and loose tailoring. Yamamoto played with volume from billowing pants, sometimes cropped or capri-length, but also showing elongated jackets with "dusty" finishes that complemented the powdered faces and hair of the models that wore the collection. The Japanese designer also invoked a striking flash of neon color under slick and plastic-y overcoats.
