RUNWAY: Balenciaga SS14

Nearly all the news regarding Balenciaga has revolved around its womenswear, thanks in large part to the designer shuffle involving Nicolas Ghesquiere and Alexander Wang and the impending lawsuit between the former and Balenciaga's owner, Kering, formerly PPR. However, today the storied fashion house showed its offerings to men for SS14 and the result was a tepid attempt at modernism with slim silhouettes and a strong dose of black. The Balenciaga man has always had trouble finding himself with no precedent to follow from the house's namesake designer Cristobal Balenciaga.
