RUNWAY: Balmain FW13

Olivier Rousteing has infused a strong dose of romanticism into Balmain since his tenure started. For FW13, the French-born designer opted to show rich leather goods like quilted leather pants to a texture leather cummerbund. Though, the story was all in the details such a the workmanship of a Mao-style coat with gold embellishment to a cerulean pullover puffer with side-zip detail. The outerwear was simply to die for, while the drop-crotch pants are a bit tired, they completed the look and made the outfits more approachable and less rigid and haughty.
