RUNWAY: Balmain SS13

Since taking over the reign at Balmain, Olivier Rousteing has moved the brand forward from the direction the previous director took it. For menswear, the hard, all-black leather looks have made way for softer, more egalitarian looks. Luxurious fabrics are still the highlight of the collection but Rousteing has proven that his ability to cut a slim silhouette is what help distinguishes him from others and given his youth, he has the ability to really tap into youth culture because he is part of it.
