RUNWAY: Yves Saint Laurent FW11
Stefano Pilati chose a multi-room runway show today in a grand Parisian apartment but the clothes were not going to be widely French and romantic, their identity was rooted in the Swinging 60s and London Mod-style. The tailoring was quite close to the body, with pants so slim, it's hard to imagine regular men fitting into them. It is no wonder that the casting for the show was filled with trim boys. The muted colors of the collection, even the mustards and plums seen, weren't nearly as vibrant as those seen on other runways like
Dries Van Noten and
Jil Sander. Pilati's fresh take on the
Yves Saint Laurent man was most fetching in his proportions and the understated elegance luxe cashmeres and wools lent the collection.
