RUNWAY: Walter Van Beirendonck FW11

Walter Van Beirendonck's wonderful take on menswear and his fun attitude is always a breath of fresh air from the sometimes overly pretentious fashion shows we see every season. For Fall/Winter 2011, Van Beirendonck cast his show with only with black models, as it's rare to see black models at all on a runway, let alone casting only black models! Bravo! The clothes and styling juxtaposed the hyper-masculinity of the models with the clothes they wore that included skirts, school boy shorts, cropped pants, pigtails (!), his signature color combinations and Rag Doll hair-esque coats.
