RUNWAY: Hermès SS14
Veronique Nichanian has been with
Hermès for twenty-five years and her latest collection for Hermès solidifies why she's been with the famed French luxury house for so long. An effortless collection emerged that was accentuated by strong but relaxed tailoring and a color palette that was flattering not just to the eye but to the body as well. Luxury is commonplace at Hermès so it was with no surprise to see leather blousons, suede trenches and a host of luxurious accessories, nonchalantly parading down the runway. Nichanian also created a series of looks that contrasted the wealth and luxury the clothes evoke with blue collar workwear, like a pair of blue overalls, cinched at the waist. In all, Nichanian has marked Hermès' territory on the men's fashion circuit as the go-to house for casual, unassuming luxury, that's if one can afford the astronomical prices.
