RUNWAY: Dior Homme SS14
Mirrored runways have seen a surge in frequency during the Spring/Summer 2014 season and
Dior Homme joins the pack that has opted for mirror installations to accompany their runway show. Dior Homme's
Kris Van Assche created a minimal and monochromatic collection that was both light and airy and strict in its tailoring. Muted tones of cerulean were very pleasing while a series of burgundy hues with technical finishes were a departure from the rest of the collection but still seemed fresh. Van Assche favored geometric patterns, like that you might see at an art exhibit, to create color blocked looks that seems to be popping up quite a lot, such as those art-inspired pieces at Issey Miyake. In all, Van Assche's collection was all about contrasts and contradictions from the color blocking to short suits.
