RUNWAY: Louis Vuitton FW13
Louis Vuitton's men's style director
Kim Jones sees the Louis Vuitton man as a constant traveler.. For FW13, the British designer took us hiking with large anoraks with even wider and bigger hoods, many of which were trimmed with fur. Daywear ranged from beautiful leather blousons to slightly oversized trenchcoats. Cropped trousers were
de rigueur and showcased the sumptuous footwear. Accessories were large and masculine, with a few slouchy bags and even a miniature traveling trunk hitched on a model's back. The finale was a beautiful take on the modern dandy, with silky smoking jackets and paisley printed coats in dark and muted tones. They were a bit flamboyant but could easily be pulled off by most men while still looking quite masculine and muscular. It was another winning collection that focused on tailoring and fabrication, something Jones has seemingly endless supply of considering Vuitton's resources.
