RUNWAY: Gucci FW16
Alessandro Michele's appointment at
Gucci and the subsequent collections he has created for the Florentine label has created a radical shift in fashion, both in men's and women's. Gender fluidity, finally now a topic that's being broached in the general public, has come to fashion to the new normal, if not even celebrated. For FW16, there was a bigger focus on the two sexes, the dandy elements, bold floral patterns and prints, were balanced with more macho designs like the cowboy shirts but the result was quite harmonious. The accessories were equally interesting with fur lined slippers, like we've seen before, to gladiator sandals for Fall, because why not? With the ease of travel nowadays, it's quite easy to pack up your gladiator sandals and a silken shirt and shorts and be somewhere tropical.
