RUNWAY: Marni SS16

Marni's return to the runway at MFW marked a new beginning for the storied Italian house. For SS16, Consuelo Castiglioni's designs played on the idea of boys becoming men or men trying to recapture their youth, depending on where the audience's age lies on the spectrum. There were oversized collars, like one might see on a schoolboy's uniform while jaunty suits were casual, perhaps paired with a portfolio, going on that first job interview. Meanwhile, cool sportswear abounded from leather blousons, with folded sleeves, to boldly patterned shirts, all of which came together into a quirky and fun collection for any age.
