RUNWAY: Junya Watanabe SS16

Junya Watanabe towed the line between inspiration and appropriation today at his SS16 show. With elements of rastafarian culture and African iconography abounding, the collection's strongest elements came in the patchwork denim and laid back designs he's so synonymous with. The narrative on colonialism would have been more powerful had there been models of African descent represented.
