RUNWAY: Marc Jacobs FW14

Marc Jacobs' work load has lightened considerably now that he's no longer in charge of Louis Vuitton. That weight off his shoulders translates to more focus on his eponymous label. Take for example his first menswear collection for his namesake brand. A 70s theme ran rampant in the collection, with an emphasis on lush fabrics, like velvet, something we've seen often during Milan. Meanwhile, coats were loose and comfortable, perfect for layering during the cold months. The finale's evening looks were paired with tennis shoes, something quintessentially Marc Jacobs. A static presentation doesn't give this fun and energetic collection justice.
