RUNWAY: Duckie Brown SS12

Duckie Brown's Spring/Summer 2012 started off uncharacteristically somber with lots of lightweight black and blue pieces that harkened a much sportier look and feel than what we're used to from the design duo. Though by the end of the collection, the brand's quirky sensibilities were seen in an explosion of floral prints and tiny shorts.

The brand has had its share of issues for a few seasons, with collections being critical hits but commercial duds. We actually like Duckie Brown and hope that the more pared down SS12 collection is a bigger commercial hit. As an aside, Duckie Brown has recently announced that they are launching an 11-piece womenswear line, the brand's first ever.
